Rescue Stories!

Harry

Harry is a handsome sulcata tortoise who came to us from Pets Plus in Fairless Hills. Even though he is around 27 years old, he has many years to go! He follows us around his enclosure waiting for food, and gobbles up everything that he is offered. Harry has settled in to a good routine of sleeping, eating, and basking in the sun. He even has a neighbor named Sherman! If you are a friend of Harry's, please feel free to reach out!

Cindy

Cindy is a stunning 13ft reticulated python. We got an urgent call one night to pick her up, or else she would have been dumped in the snow. Even though the drive was long, and it was late at night, we couldn't let that happen to her. After many hours in the car and not getting home until around 3am, we can now proudly say that Cindy has been with us for over a year. She is incredibly sweet and loves to bask in the sun!

Max

Max is another sulcata tortoise, however, he is very small for being 15 years old. His owners originally found him after being dumped or lost by different owners. They did their best to care for him, but unfortunately they were given some false information about what he needed, even though they sought out a vet. He may have some defomities, but it doesn't slow him down! He loves taking long soaks and relaxing.

Rose

Rose is our male red iguana. He came to us after he grew too large for his previous owner to properly house. He has a larger than life attitude, and is constantly roaming around our reptile room looking for trouble. After wrecking the room he always is ready for cuddles, scratches, and a good nap! He loves being hand fed and is currently being clicker and target trained.

Hobbs

Hobbs is a cute leopard gecko who is unfortunately badly affected by metabolic bone disease. This has caused a few deformities including his feet being severely misshapen. He is still able to hunt all by himself and he shows no signs of pain. He is a great example of why researching is a huge step to taking care of any pet. His problems could have been prevented.

Willie

Willie is a gorgeous king snake with a deformity affecting one eye. He was abandoned in the cold, tank and all, by his previous owners. Luckily, he was spotted and was able to be picked up by our rescue. We are not sure why he was abandoned, but it is definitely no fault of his own. He is wonderful to have around, and his eye deformity doesn't stop him from looking for food all the time!
